The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully conducted air strikes targeting armed fighters near the country’s border with Cameroon, eliminating at least 35 individuals identified as threats. In response to these developments, the United States State Department has recently sanctioned the sale of 6 million worth of weapons to Nigeria. This sale includes various munitions such as bombs and rockets, pending approval from Congress. The U.S. government asserts that this military support aims to enhance Nigeria’s capabilities to effectively address current and future threats posed by terrorist organizations operating within its borders.
