New Political Action Committees Launched Aimed at Supporting Democratic Candidates

George Soros has made significant contributions to the landscape of American politics through his establishment of two influential super PACs, Democracy PAC and Democracy PAC II. These organizations, which are dedicated to supporting Democratic candidates, exemplify Soros’s commitment to funding efforts that aim to promote rights, equity, and justice.

As of the latest reports, these PACs are collectively expected to allocate an impressive million for the upcoming 2024 election cycle. The first of these, Democracy PAC, was created in January 2019, with its sister organization, Democracy PAC II, launching in July 2021. Under the leadership of Michael Vachon, who has served as a close advisor to Soros, these PACs have the capacity to accept unlimited donations, further amplifying their impact on electoral politics.

Data from the Federal Election Commission reveals that, since its inception, Democracy PAC has been principally funded by Soros and associated organizations. By June 30, the PAC had amassed over 2 million for the 2026 election cycle. Notably, approximately half of these funds were sourced from Geosor Corp., a private investment firm that Soros has controlled for many years, while the remainder came from the Fund for Policy Reform, a nonprofit entity established as part of the Open Society Foundations. This foundation plays a critical role in supporting independent groups striving for social change worldwide.

Alex Soros, the son of George Soros, currently serves as the board chairman of the Open Society Foundations and is poised to continue his father’s legacy of philanthropy and advocacy. The Soros network has demonstrated an upward trajectory in its funding capabilities, with varying reports indicating that it is on track to eclipse previous records of political contributions.

In the 2026 election cycle, Democracy PAC has already allocated over million to other Democratic-aligned organizations, including the Senate Majority PAC and the Strategic Victory Fund. This financial backing is crucial for these groups as they mobilize efforts to support Democratic candidates at both state and national levels.

Simultaneously, Democracy PAC II has demonstrated its financial strength, having received and distributed approximately .6 million, but notably maintains a reserve of over 1 million. This sum includes a sizable donation from the recent 2022 election cycle, underscoring the PAC’s ongoing influence.

The robust activities of both Democratic PACs reaffirm Soros’s prominent role in shaping the political narrative as the 2024 elections approach, paving the way for strategic funding aimed at bolstering candidates who advocate progressive policies.
