In a statement released on Thursday, OCHA emphasized that the deteriorating health situation in Gaza is directly tied to the ongoing blockade, which has severely impacted the availability of fuel necessary for the operation of desalination plants and water systems. As a consequence, the population is left with little to no access to potable water and sanitation facilities, exacerbating an already dire public health crisis.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in extensive destruction across Gaza, displacing a significant portion of the population and subjecting the region to stringent restrictions.
