Fabinho, 32, who previously played for Liverpool for five years, is expected to contribute significantly to Trabzonspor’s ambitions after helping Al-Ittihad secure the domestic league title during his tenure in Saudi Arabia.
Under the terms of the contract, Fabinho will earn a guaranteed fee of 2.6 million euros (roughly .03 million) each season, alongside a signing fee of 1.4 million euros (approximately .63 million). As he arrived at Trabzon Airport on Monday, Fabinho expressed his enthusiasm about reuniting with Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, stating, “A really special feeling to be playing with Salah again.” Their shared history at Liverpool, along with mutual respect for each other’s skills and contributions to the game, makes this reunion particularly exciting for fans of both players.
Fabinho’s career at Liverpool was remarkable, during which he made 219 appearances and played a crucial role in the team’s victories in various prestigious tournaments, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup. Salah, who joined Trabzonspor as a free agent earlier this month, will further complement the team’s lineup, as they aim to build on their past season’s success, where they finished third in the league.
