The blaze erupted during a performance by the hip-hop duo DNK at the Pulse nightclub in Kocani early Sunday morning, when sparks from flares ignited the ceiling. Alongside the tragic loss of life, 155 individuals sustained injuries, amplifying the national sense of grief and solidarity among the Balkan nation’s citizens.
While memorial services took place in various cities, a significant ceremony was held on Thursday in Kocani, a town of approximately 25,000 people located about 100 kilometers east of the capital, Skopje.
