Yassar’s grandfather, Hichem Naouar, notes the significant change in the boy since his father was detained. The young boy now shares a bed with his mother after waking up in fright during the night, and his academic performance has suffered. When asked about the rumors at school concerning his father’s character, Yassar stood firm, declaring, “Never,” in response to the suggestion that his father was a thief.
