Zaman, along with Lahore captain Shaheen Afridi and fast bowler Haris Rauf, was involved in a brief exchange during which they passed the ball between themselves.
The situation escalated when the on-field umpire approached Rauf and requested to inspect the ball. Following discussions with the square-leg umpire, officials imposed a penalty of five runs against Lahore and ordered a change of the ball, a decision that proved to be pivotal.
