In a recent communication to his supporters on X, Museveni expressed gratitude for the continued trust placed in him to lead Uganda. He highlighted the substantial progress and infrastructural advancements made during his administration, emphasizing the availability of electricity, improved road networks, and a growing educated populace. These developments have, he noted, attracted a wave of investors seeking opportunities in a stable and peaceful environment.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM), Museveni’s governing party, reaffirmed his candidacy earlier in June, demonstrating strong intra-party support. As part of his campaign platform, Museveni outlined key areas of focus for his next term, including wealth creation, education, infrastructure development, comprehensive healthcare, and measures to combat crime and corruption. His aspirations underscore a commitment to improving the quality of life for all Ugandans, fostering economic inclusivity, and enhancing public services.
Museveni’s political journey began in 1986 after leading a successful rebellion against the military regime of General Tito Okello. Since then, he has maintained a significant presence in Ugandan politics, winning multiple elections.
