A recent joint investigation by The Guardian, +972 Magazine, and Hebrew-language publication Local Call revealed that Microsoft’s Azure software is purportedly being used by an Israeli military surveillance agency to collect recordings of communications among Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza. The revelations prompted Microsoft to engage Covington & Burling LLP to conduct a thorough review of its practices related to the situation.
