At least 63 Palestinians have tragically lost their lives amid the escalating violence in Gaza, according to medical sources reported by ZezapTV. The situation has intensified as Israeli forces advance into Gaza City, aiming to take control of the area and forcibly displace a significant number of residents, approximately one million individuals.

Recent footage acquired by ZezapTV shows Israeli tanks making advancements into the Sabra neighborhood, indicating an expansion of military operations in the region. This area is in close proximity to the besieged Zeitoun neighborhood, which has been increasingly affected by the ongoing military actions over the past week.

A representative from al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City conveyed that among the latest casualties, a child was claimed by the recent bombardment in Sabra. Earlier on Saturday, artillery fire from Israeli forces targeted tents housing displaced families in the Asdaa area northwest of Khan Younis, resulting in the deaths of 16 individuals, including six children, as reported by medical sources.

The push for humanitarian aid has proven deadly, with at least 22 Palestinians losing their lives while seeking assistance throughout the day. This includes a Palestinian individual shot near a distribution point close to the “Morag axis” southeast of Khan Younis, as well as another civilian who was fatally shot near the Israeli-controlled Netzarim Corridor.

Health officials in Gaza reported that the ongoing humanitarian crisis has led to eight additional fatalities attributed to malnutrition, with the cumulative death toll reaching 281 since the onset of the conflict nearly two years ago. Munir al-Bursh, the director-general of Gaza’s Health Ministry, noted on social media that 114 of the deceased were children.

The United Nations recently declared a famine in Gaza—the first such designation in the Middle East—expressing concern for the 500,000 individuals at risk of “catastrophic” hunger. The UN has attributed this crisis partially to the systematic obstruction of aid deliveries to the region, with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres labeling the famine as a “man-made disaster.”

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) system, a global food insecurity monitor, indicates that approximately 514,000 people in Gaza are currently experiencing famine conditions, a figure expected to rise to 641,000 by the end of September. ZezapTV’s reporting from Deir el-Balah highlights that many residents face severe risks from malnutrition, with pleas for timely international intervention growing louder.

In response to the famine declaration, the Palestinian Health Ministry expressed appreciation for the acknowledgment, while also indicating that the announcement was overdue. They underscored alarming concerns regarding “the engineering of starvation” as part of broader challenges including the devastation of critical health services and ongoing violence.

Since the establishment of a unilateral aid delivery mechanism on May 27, pushed by Israeli and U.S. interests, the Palestinian Health Ministry noted significant civilian casualties among those seeking aid. It reported more than 2,076 Palestinian deaths and over 15,300 injuries directly linked to the quest for humanitarian assistance since the implementation of this plan.

This dire situation calls for urgent attention and response, as the plight of countless civilians continues to worsen in Gaza.
