A tragic helicopter crash in Ghana has claimed the lives of eight individuals, including key government figures, namely Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed. The Ghanaian Air Force disclosed earlier that the military helicopter lost contact with radar shortly after its departure from Accra, at approximately 09:00 local time. The helicopter was headed for Obuasi, a town situated to the north-west of the capital. The loss of life in the incident has deeply affected various sectors, as these leaders played essential roles in the governance and security of the nation.

In response to this devastating event, Debrah conveyed the administration’s condolences, emphasizing solidarity with the families of those who have tragically perished in service to their country. “The president and the government extend their condolences and solidarity to the families of our comrades and soldiers who fell in their service to the nation,” Debrah stated.
